Gun Dog Training  | AKC Hunt Test Training

Matt grew up in a small town in Washington state. Since he was a boy, Matt has always had a passion for dogs and duck hunting. The passion would later turn into a dream when he started working closely with Ryan Fortier, owner of Long Hollow Retrievers in Ellensburg, WA. Countless hours refining his art of dog training, Matt developed his own program and the start of Copperwood Kennels in 2012. Matt later moved his kennel and program from southwest Washington to Idaho. The move allowed for better training properties, more access to wild birds and for Matt to continue his passion for training gun dogs and bird dogs.

Matt consistently travels back to Washington and Oregon to pick up and drop dogs that are interested in joining the program. Usually trips are every 4-6 weeks to accommodate returning clients. These trips will continue through 2023. There is a fuel charge of $75. Please contact with questions.

There are too many good dogs out there to have a bad one.
